AMARE-EU
Objective
The objective of the project, AMARE-EU (Adoption of Multicultural Approaches towards Resilience Enhancement in EU) is to raise awareness on resilience of European cities and to develop concrete solutions to involve and inform those who, due to linguistic, social, economic, and cultural factors, are at severe risk if a natural disaster occurs.
Activities
The project will develop:
- An online self-assessment tool to evaluate the capacity of cities to foster a culture of prevention in the presence of multicultural societies; and
- An online library with materials related to topics such as risk management, city resilience, multiculturalism and citizens’ involvement in multicultural societies.
The approach and toolkit developed in the project will be tested and validated in five European pilot cities, who all have a significant migrant population. The tools and innovative approach offered by the project will also be made available for transfer and implementation for other cities.
