DECIDE
Objective
The DECIDE project (DEmocratic Compact: Improving Democracy in Europe) consists of a thematic network of cities that work together to develop a collection of best practices that can help enhance the quality of democracy and citizenship in Europe.
Through a bottom-up approach, good examples from the project partners are collected, which are then tested by other partners and developed, after which the partnership finally has a catalog of recommended and proven methods for involving citizens in democratic decisions.
Activities
The project partners each identify and describe three local examples of best practice in citizen involvement. Then each partner selects one method from another partner country and tests this locally, among other things, through the organization of a workshop.
Partnership
The partnership consists of 24 partner organizations from 14 different countries.
ALDA (Association of Local Democracy Agencies) is coordinator, and Vejle Municipality is the only Danish partner.

Financing
The project is supported by the EU's Europe for Citizens Program and runs from 2013 - June 2015.
